Introduction: Reframing Climate and Environmental Justice

This issue of the IDS Bulletin brings together a range empirically grounded studies that add to – and challenge contemporary debates on climate environmental justice. Despite growing focus justice dimensions change, we argue there are still ‘blind spots’ in mainstream warrant increased attention. In this brief introduction, point three particular: first, persistent failure recognise diverse contexts knowledges; second, continuing sufficiently appreciate deep-seated contestations around justice; third, risks associated with ‘recovery’ ‘emergency’ mindsets driving policy agendas. The articles collection illustrate exemplify these issues different ways from variety methodological, philosophical, interdisciplinary approaches positionalities. We for reframing suggest some key principles make ‘hidden’ aspects more visible practice.
